KOTARO, is an integral system of risk reduction through electronic integration, developed by S-Wave Ingeniería.
Its purpose is to control and reduce the direct and indirect risks that are generated in a seismic emergency.
This allows to obtain an optimization and reduction in the response times, decreasing the states of anxiety and collective alteration before the emergency.

Being an automatic alarm, Kotaro simplifies the work of the staff in charge of the evacuation, because it only interrupts production lines before a potentially dangerous emergency.
Considering Kotaro detects risky seism on early stages, it generates an early evacuation signal, even before the tremor is perceived by humans, remarkably reducing evacuation time, as well as people’s panic or anxiety state.
Kotaro is an essential tool that obeys Article 184 of the Código del Trabajo in Chile. It is extremely important when stampede risks during an evacuation haste, people’s falls to the same or a different level, and structure collapse. It anticipates and avoids the possibility of blocked doors, or people trapped under fallen structures. Therefore, it is necessary to lessen liability and responsibility that senior positions or company proprietors could face.
Kotaro sends a text message indicating that the alarm goes off, including real time data about the registered tremor and the site of the incident, even without being in the city or affected area. This allows to immediately evaluate the importance of the event, and speed up the contingency plan.
Was born in the Atacama region to develop automatic tecnology to be able to control risks and threats related to different kinds of emergencies than affect people.
